UGC Calls for Faculty Proposals to Create MOOCs on SWAYAM Platform - Direct Download Links
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a public invitation for faculty members and subject experts from higher education institutions to submit proposals to develop Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for the SWAYAM platform. This call supports the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's vision to expand access to quality higher education through online technology.
Key Details:
- Eligible Participants: Faculty members holding a Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in recognized universities or colleges eligible for UGC funding.
- Disciplines & Courses: MOOCs are sought across 145 undergraduate and 139 postgraduate non-engineering subjects, including Environmental Studies and other disciplines emphasizing skill development and employment orientation.
- Responsibilities: Selected faculty will act as Course Coordinators, responsible for creating full courses including video lectures, reading materials, assessments, and discussions.
- Submission Deadlines: Various calls have deadlines which include:
- May 15, 2025 - General proposals
- May 20, 2025 - Specific MOOCs including Environmental Studies
- Quality and Compliance: Courses must undergo plagiarism checks, and coordinators must comply with UGC and Ministry of Education directives.
- Platform: All developed MOOCs will be offered on SWAYAM, India's national online education portal.
