The Indian Coast Guard has announced important updates regarding the recruitment of various positions within its forces. This blog post covers crucial information regarding the results, required documents, medical standards, and general instructions for candidates aspiring to join.
Result Declaration
The results for each stage of the selection procedure from Stage-I to Stage-III can be accessed by logging into the candidates' accounts on the official ICG recruitment website. The result of the online examination for Stage-I is expected to be announced within 30 days.
Please note, candidates involved in malpractice at any stage will not receive their scores, and cut-off scores will not be displayed.
Required Documents
Documents must be presented in original form; electronic versions (e.g., Digilocker) will not be accepted at any stage. Here are the documents required at each stage:
- Stage-I:
- Valid original identity proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, or Passport)
- Two passport-sized photographs with similar facial features as uploaded in the application
- Additional documents: E-admit card, graduation degree certificate, SC/ST self-attested certificate, train/bus tickets for travel claim.
- Stage-II:
- Printout of online application and E-admit card for both Stage-I and II
- Identity proof as submitted in the online application
- 12 passport-sized photographs identical to the one submitted with the application
- NOC in original and two self-attested copies (if applicable)
- Printout of “Online Application and Stage-II E-admit card”.
Medical Standards
Medical examinations will be conducted as per the regulations for entry personnel. Important medical standards include:
- Minimum height: 157 cm (may be reduced by up to 5 cm for candidates from certain northeastern states)
- Chest: Proportionate with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
- Weight: Proportional to height and age
- Hearing: Must be normal
Training Timelines
Selected candidates will undergo basic training for various batches beginning in 2026:
- CGEPT – 01/2026: Commencing in February 2026
- CGEPT – 02/2026: Commencing in June 2026
General Instructions
It is imperative that all candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates must have no criminal convictions or ongoing investigations at the time of application.
Failure to present required documents will lead to the cancellation of candidature. All original certificates will be returned after verification, except those deemed eligible for Stage-III.
